Just a little late with my mother’s Mother’s Day card, but life happens. I didn’t get to spend any time with my mom or my daughter due to some of my husband’s allergic reactions. All is well and I hope to get there next weekend. Mom will be thrilled with this card, because she has always loved my watercoloring.
On with my card…The stamp sets are a new release from Gina K Designs, “Tropical Blooms” and “Lettered and Lovely”. “Lettered and Lovely” has the most amazing calligraphy. I am sure I will be using it for more projects.
I first stamped the line image from Tropical Blooms with a new Gina K Designs ink, Jet Black Amalgam Ink. This is amazing ink! When stamping, you will get a crisp impression almost all the time. I had to stamp it several times because I was stamping on watercolor paper. I did use the smooth side, but you will always find a little texture. Gina’s new ink is safe for alcohol markers, watercolors, and colored pencils.
The coloring of my card was completed with Arteza’s Real Brush Watercolor Markers. Arteza’s watercolor markers are very new to me. I must say, “I love them!” I have purchased Arteza’s tubes that I hope to use soon. (I have affiliated links for all supplies listed below. All my stamps and supplies have been purchased by me. If you click on those links and you purchase from that linked company, I will get a small commission.)
The Arteza’s watercolor marker colors are:
Leaves: 126 Crocodile Green, 146 Olive Green, 170 Pear Green;
Flowers: 143 Parma Gray, 119 Dark Blue, 186 Denim Blue,
188 Wisteria Purple, 142 Amethyst Purple, 109 Violet;
Background: 121 Honey, 156 Sunset Yellow.
Note: Before I started on the back ground I masked everything.
A stamp from the Tropical Blooms was stamped with
Archival Shadow Grey.
After I completed that stamping I proceeded with the background color.
The cardstock layers, all from Gina K Designs, are Ivory (card base), Black Onyx, and Sweet Mango. I have one layer with the Sweet Mango and two layers with the Black Onyx. All the layers complimented the finished card front, or at least I felt they did.
