“Howdy” from Tulsa, OK! Tornado Alley finally got some rain and we all needed it. Our temperatures are what we usually expect in July and August. But “NO!” said Mother Nature!
Today I am introducing one of Ellen Hutson LLC “Leading Ladies”. These fun images were designed by Brandi Kincaid. I would like you to meet Brandi’s “City Lady”. Copic coloring was a breeze.
The Copic colors I used are:
Skin: E000, 00, 01, 04, 11;
Blush: R02, 11;
Hair: E50, 53, 55, 57;
Capris & Ribbons: B12, 14, 16, 18;
Blouse & Shoes: RV91, 93, 95, 99;
Purse: B12, 14, 16, 18, and RV91, 93, 95, 99;
Shopping Bags: RV63, 66, 69,
and BG70 72, 75, 78,
and BG90, 93, 96, 99,
and BV00, 01, 02, 04, 08;
Bouquet: Paper: R02, E11;
Leaves: G29, 40, 43, 46;
Flowers: B14, 18, and R24, 29.
After all the coloring I decided to use the dies on the images colored. When I was trying to decide on a card layout, I had the brainstorm of making a sky line. This stamp is a city lady, why not? I knew what dies I had in mind and of course, they were under a few other items from my stash. (Note to self: organize! Ha-ha!!) I am a very messy crafter/artist in whatever I decided to create. Tim Holtz’s Skyline/Cityscapes thinlits were perfect. I die cut them each twice, once in gray and once in black. I used the black as a shadow. (Product links are listed below from several of my affiliates.)
A lot of dimension is what I wanted. I fussy cut everything out, even after using the dies. City Lady was stamped twice. She needed to be sturdy because she was going to be more dimensional than any of the other images. When I fussy cut any stamped image, I always go around the edges with a black marker. I do not like the paper edges showing. That’s a quirk of mine. The photo below gives a better view of the dimension.
Before the last step, assembly, I trimmed the card front to 5.5”. I love this squared size when a lot is going on. I added the blue sky with several blue inks and added stars with a white gel pen. The sidewalk/street was swiped with a light gray ink. I assembled everything and added the front to my card base.
